Most categories pay 15%, with a $0.40 minimum per item, but some pay less (consumer electronics and computers) and some more. A few rates change with the price: on some the new rate applies to the whole price, on others only to the part above the line.

Individual or Professional plan
Amazon's Individual plan charges $1.49 per item sold; Professional charges $29.99 a month, however much you sell. Up to 20 items a month, Individual costs less (20 items: $29.80). From 21 items ($31.29 on Individual), Professional does. On either plan, Amazon's referral fee on each sale comes on top.
Approved Amazon Handmade sellers are different: "Amazon waives the Professional Selling fee of $29.99 a month CAD for all Handmade-approved applicants (after the first month)." (Amazon Handmade).
FBA fulfilment fees
If Amazon stores and ships your stock, each unit sold pays a fulfilment fee by size tier and shipping weight, and a 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge on top of it. Items priced under $14 pay $0.80 less. From October 15 to January 14 the holiday peak rates apply: the same 400+ to 500 g item pays $7.23 the rest of the year and $7.65 in peak.

On the example $25 item, Amazon fulfilment leaves you $12.80 and shipping it yourself with a $6 label leaves you $20.05 in the holiday peak.
