What Canadians should know first
- Both are priced in US dollars. Jobber™ says so on its pricing page. Housecall Pro hides prices from Canadian visitors behind a quiz and doesn’t state the billing currency; ask before you sign. The table above converts at the Bank of Canada rate of 1.4054 (Oct 20, 2026).
- Bank payments: Jobber’s ACH option is US only. Housecall Pro’s help article lists bank transfers at 1% without saying whether they work for Canadian customers.
- Card rates: neither app publishes separate Canadian rates. Jobber’s page doesn’t say whether its 30¢ fee is Canadian or US cents for Canadian accounts.
The three differences that decide it
1. How they count users. Jobber prices by team-size band (1, 5, 10 or 15 users). Housecall Pro fixes users per plan (1, 5 or 8) and prices extra users only on Max (US$35 each). A 6-person crew pays for Max (US$329); on Jobber it’s the 10-user Connect band (US$299).
2. Maintenance agreements. Max only at Housecall Pro; not listed by plan at Jobber.
3. Card fees. Online, the two cost the same on a $333 invoice; Jobber wins above it, Housecall Pro below. In person, Housecall Pro’s 2.59% beats Jobber’s 2.7% + 30¢ at any amount. Housecall Pro charges 3.49% on Amex and business cards.

Who should pick which
- Jobber: solo owners who don’t need QuickBooks yet, and teams of 6 to 15.
- Housecall Pro: crews of 2 to 5 who take most payments in person.
- Neither: if you want Canadian-dollar billing, Tradify and ServiceM8 publish Canadian prices. See Jobber alternatives.
Some shops also weigh ServiceTitan. It publishes no prices, sells per technician after a demo, and is aimed at shops with three or more technicians, so it’s a different kind of purchase from these two.

Online, Jobber's 2.9% + 30¢ is cheaper on invoices above about $333 and Housecall Pro's 2.99% is cheaper below that. In person, Housecall Pro's 2.59% is cheaper at any amount. Neither publishes separate Canadian rates, and Jobber's bank payment option is US only.
